Location Of Spokane Airport
Spokane International Airport is located just five miles west of downtown Spokane in the east of Washington. If you're looking to get to the city center, there are a few different options available. Taxis will get you there in around 20 minutes, or you can rent a car at one of the rental facilities near Concourse A and B. There are shuttle services and ride share services outside the baggage claim area of each concourse, too. Public buses (Spokane Transit) run daily from the Terminal Building outside Concourse C and in front of the car rental facilities - you'll be in downtown Spokane in around 25 minutes. If you're looking for onward travel from Spokane, Amtrak and Greyhound services are available in the same station downtown - it's only a 14 minute drive from the airport. Alternatively, there are other private bus services offering onward transportation to major cities.
History Of Spokane Airport
Spokane Airport used to be called Sunset Field and Geiger Field before it was taken over by Spokane County from the War Department after World War 2. Later on, it got its current name and Concourses A and B were opened up for commercial traffic. As passenger numbers increased, the airport kept growing; expanding Concourses A and B and adding Concourse C. In the near future, they're planning to add another concourse because more than three million passengers come through annually. Pretty impressive!
Spokane Airport Facilities
Spokane Airport is a great place to visit, with all the restaurants, bars and shops located on the other side of security. In Concourses A and B you can find most of them in the central rotunda area. But if you're in Concourse C, they'll be spread out beyond that point. Just keep in mind, you can't go airside from Concourse C to the rotunda. So if you've got some time, that's where most of your dining and shopping options are. Enjoy!

Carry An Empty Bottle

It's right next to the Airport Inbound Road and it's clearly marked with signs. So make sure you head there before you pick up your passenger!
Drop Off Luggage Before Returning Your Car Rental Vehicle
If you have a lot of luggage, it might be a good idea to drop them off before heading to the Car Rental Counters at the other end of Concourse C. It's quite a hike from the ticketing area and carrying your bags that distance may not be feasible. Consider this option if you want an easier journey!
Arrive 90 Minutes Before Your Scheduled Departure Time
When flying out of Spokane International Airport, the recommended arrival time is 90 minutes prior to your departure. Although some frequent fliers say they get away with only arriving an hour early, it's always best to give yourself plenty of time to navigate check-in and security.
